Fees
Weaving Threads Psychology is a private practice and does not bulk bill. Full payment is required at the time of the appointment either through bank transfer or via most major credit cards.
Private session
You are more than welcome to attend Weaving Threads Psychology as a private client. The fee for a 50-minute session is as follows:
Initial session – $240.00
Subsequent sessions – $220.00
Long Consults (1.5 hours) – $370.00
Couples- $280.00
Medicare rebate – a significant Medicare rebate may be available for your counselling session.
Weaving Threads Psychology provides Counselling and Psychology under the Medicare Better Access Program for eligible clients. You may be able to access a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP. This will enable you to receive a Medicare rebate of $96.65 per session. You can work together with your GP to decide whether you would be eligible for this plan. The Medicare rebate is available for 10 sessions per calendar year.
The charge for a 50-minute session is as follows:
Initial session – $240.00 – $143.35 after Medicare rebate of $96.65
Subsequent sessions – $220.00 – $123.35 after Medicare rebate of $96.65
Long Consults (1.5 hours) – $370.00 – $223.35 after Medicare rebate of $96.65
Couples (no medicare rebate available) – $280.00
Please note that whilst I will endeavour to be aware of the sessions available to you on your mental health care plan, keeping your plan up to date is the clients responsibility.
Private Health Cover
Counselling sessions can be claimed with most private health funds when you see a Psychologist. This is only applicable if you are not already using the Medicare rebate. Please consult your private health fund for more details, as yearly limits and eligibility vary with funds and levels of coverage. To receive your refund, all you need to do is take the receipt to your private health fund to receive the rebate.
**Please note I do not undertake report writing or legal matters as part of my practice. I also do not offer appointments through third parties. If you require a letter of support, I may want to see you for a certain number of sessions before agreeing to write a letter.
I require 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel a session without incurring a cancellation fee. Please note that for Monday appointments, cancellations or reschedules need to be communicated by mid-day on the Friday before the appointment. This policy is in place to allow other clients, who may be on a cancellation or waitlist to be offered an appointment. If an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or non-attendance occurs then the full fee will be charged. Please know that telehealth either by phone or Zoom is an option if you cannot come in for your face-to-face session.
Reminder texts and/or emails may be sent as a courtesy; however, they do not replace the client’s responsibility to remember their appointment date and time.
